How to reach Morditas via the three-part Echo chain, and what Pinnacle Morditas (Demigod's Ascendance) needs: 400 Corruption, no difficulty scaling.
Last Epoch Morditas & Pinnacle Morditas Boss Guide
Morditas is the Season 5 endgame boss in Last Epoch, and Pinnacle Morditas — the God of Bloodshed — is his harder version, gated behind the Woven Echo called Demigod's Ascendance. You unlock the first by killing monsters inside Rage of Morditas encounters, then running a three-part Echo chain ending in a fight with him. The Pinnacle needs 400 Corruption in your Echo Web, and it officially does not get harder as you push that number up.

Season 5, Rage of the Frostborn, went live on Steam on October 1, 2026 with Patch 1.5. This page covers that season with the 1.5.1 and 1.5.1.1 patches applied; new to the patch? Start with the Season 5 overview.
The Official Road to the God of Bloodshed
Eleventh Hour Games laid the route out in three steps: defeat Morditas through the season's mechanic and claim the Woven Echo that drops, step into that Woven Echo (Demigod's Ascendance), then come face to face with the Pinnacle version.
No reputation track, no key vendor, no extra currency. What trips players up is not the boss — it is the 400 Corruption and the Anger gauge.

Unlock Chain: Blood Crystal Kills to the Circle of Frozen Blood
Morditas does not unlock from a menu click. It unlocks from your kill count inside the season mechanic: Rage of Morditas encounters appear as Blood Crystals in the Campaign and the Monolith, and you must interact with one to start. The charge and ritual loop is covered in the Rage of Morditas farming guide.
The unlock currency is one line from the Patch 1.5 notes: completing those encounters in the Monolith of Fate advances three Morditas-related challenges, tracked in the Nexus panel. Every monster you slay pushes you closer. Once Morditas has claimed enough souls, a set of special Echoes unlocks — a three-part chain where the first two stages are familiar foes and the third ends with a chance to fight Morditas. That final Echo is named Circle of Frozen Blood.
RoM encounters spawn in both the Campaign and the Monolith, but the 1.5 notes tie Morditas unlock progress specifically to the Monolith of Fate. If your Nexus panel has not moved after a run of campaign Blood Crystals, farm them inside the Monolith instead.
The Anger Gauge: Why Your Echoes Keep Getting Harder
The Morditas activity window in the Nexus panel shows an Anger gauge, and it climbs whether you want it to or not. Kills during Rage of Morditas encounters slowly increase it. Anger raises the difficulty of all three Echoes and increases the rewards at the end.
The saving grace is the word "freely". If the chain gets too hard, you can appease Morditas in the Nexus panel and bring Anger back down — so let it build while you learn the encounters, then soothe it before a run you care about. The Nexus Window is itself new in 1.5: Endgame activities, Timelines, Dungeons and Factions in one panel, worth learning before you touch the Monolith of Fate systems.
The Season 5 Weaver node Ubiquity of Rage makes your Echoes more likely to contain Rage of Morditas encounters at all. If unlock progress is crawling, point at it before grinding more crystals.
Requirement Checklist: Prerequisite → Threshold → Difficulty
| Stage | What unlocks it | Hard requirement | How difficulty behaves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Morditas Woven Echoes | Monster kills in Rage of Morditas encounters, tracked in the Nexus panel | Complete RoM encounters inside the Monolith of Fate | Anger scales all three Echoes and their rewards; appease to reduce |
| Standard Morditas | Third stage of the chain, in the Circle of Frozen Blood Echo | Reach the final stage of the chain | Baseline boss. Anger still applies |
| Pinnacle Morditas, God of Bloodshed | Demigod's Ascendance, a Pinnacle Woven Echo dropped after beating standard Morditas | 400 Corruption placed in your Echo Web | Fixed. Does not scale with Corruption |
The last row is the point of the table: Anger scales the seasonal Echo chain. Corruption does not scale the Pinnacle.

The 400 Corruption Myth: Why Pushing to 1000 Will Not Help
A forum thread from October 2, 2026 is titled "Cant Place Uber Morditas Echo At 1000 Corruption?" The original post was deleted by its author, so the title is all that survives — but it captures an expensive misunderstanding perfectly: grind the Echo Web for ages, sail past the requirement, and still cannot place the Echo.
The official wording closes it off. Demigod's Ascendance "requires 400 Corruption to place in your Echo Web, and it does not scale difficulty with Corruption." 400 is a threshold, not a target — holding 1000 buys nothing. And no scaling means no extra reward: there is no over-invested version of this boss.
Hit 400, place the Echo, stop. The Corruption push guide covers the Echo Web routes and the Stability trade-off.
On where the fight ranks, official framing is exact: it "helps bridge the difficulty curve towards Uber Aberroth." Quote it precisely, because plenty of third-party guides paraphrase it as sitting between Aberroth and Uber Aberroth — a stronger claim than the developer blog makes. It is a stepping stone, not a substitute.
What the Official Notes Do Not Cover
As of Patch 1.5.1.1, the complete official record is the unlock path, the Anger mechanic, the 400 Corruption requirement, the no-scaling rule and that difficulty-curve line. Not published anywhere official:
- Attack sequences, cast patterns, or a skill list for either Morditas or the Pinnacle version
- Phase counts, arena layout, or how the God of Bloodshed differs beyond being "a more difficult version"
- Health pools, damage values, resistances, or any drop table
The only other Morditas-family name that surfaced officially is Yrun, Champion of Morditas, appearing in Patch 1.5.1 solely as the subject of a Dreamslash hitbox fix. That confirms the character exists and nothing else.
A numbered ability list or concrete timings means community testing mislabelled as official, or invented. Nothing in 1.5, 1.5.1 or 1.5.1.1 supports it.
Filling that gap is a collectable job, not a vague wait: per-phase ability lists with cast times, whether the arena changes, what can be interrupted, and how your Corruption interacts with his damage checks. Until that lands with clips, treat any timeline as unverified.
Mode and Version Differences That Matter
- Patch 1.5.1, October 2 — Pinnacle Morditas can now be challenged by Legacy and Offline characters; before that, only seasonal Online characters had a path in. The patch also fixed a flickering light on entering Demigod's Ascendance.
- Hotfix 1.5.1.1, October 3 — fixed a boss spawning outside Empowered Monolith and RoM rewards arriving already ruined.
- Reward hook — Morditas' Vengeance, a spear, can only be obtained from the Pinnacle encounter. Full effect in the Season 5 Uniques breakdown.
- Platform — Season 5 launched on Steam on October 1. This is the PC build; see Online vs Offline vs Legacy for what each mode costs you.
One trap in that first bullet: First Blood, the season's Pinnacle race, opened at 11 AM CDT on October 1 and runs two weeks, awarding an Enraged Legend Supporter Pack to the first kill per class in both Normal and Hardcore. Its rules require seasonal Online characters played solo, so Offline and Legacy players can attempt the boss but cannot compete.

Do Not Confuse This With Morditas' Reach
Morditas' Reach is a two-handed weapon Unique from Season 2. Same name, no connection — no drop source, no mechanic link. If a search result promised you a build around "Morditas reach," you are on the wrong page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need 1000 Corruption for Pinnacle Morditas? No. 400 in the Echo Web is the requirement, and the fight does not scale with Corruption.
Why can I not find the Morditas Echoes? Progress comes from monster kills during RoM encounters in the Monolith of Fate, tracked under Morditas Activity in the Nexus panel. Stalled progress usually means campaign kills.
The Echoes are too hard. Do I have to stop killing? No. Appease Morditas in the Nexus panel to bring Anger down, trading the gauge's reward side for the survival side.
What does Morditas actually do in the fight? Officially, only "a more difficult version of the Morditas you encounter via the Season's mechanic." Any timeline you find is community-sourced.
